Japanese Terms
Explanation: When I first began looking through Japanese Fanart sites, I didn't know a lot of terms or enough Japanese to know what link said to enter and what link said "gall" Over time, I became more familiar with Japanese and it was a lot easier. Here you'll find terms that are common or not so common on Japanese fan sites. There are basic terms and terms just for a certain fandom.
* You will need to be able to view Japanese symbols on your computer.
In Firefox go to View (beside Edit) at the top of your page and then Character Encoding. Pick Japanese (Shift_Jis), Japanese (EUC-JP) or whatever you have.

General:
入 or 入る = Enter
"Link Free" (リンクフリー) = A term that means you can link to their site "without permission". If a site says you must ask permission/leave a note, you can try and send a simply email asking for permission or telling them you are linking to them. If you're unsure wether a site is link free or not, try running the text above the site info and banner on the link or about page into the Babelfish translator and see if you can gain insight from that.
絵 - Pictures, images, sketches, etc. Where the gallery is.
ｉｌｌｕｓｔ = Illustrations (Where their gallery or pictures are)
ギャラリ/ぎゃらり = Gallery
イラスト - Illust(rations)
キリバン - Kiriban
その他 - Pretty much means "Other". Like say there's a Naruto section and an その他. Anything else besides Naruto will be put into the Other section.
ログ = Log(s)
漫画 - Manga, comic
コミックス = Comics
裏口 (うらぐち) = Backdoor. A lot of times its shortened from "uraguchi" to "ura", so if you see the word "ura", you should know that it means the part of site where adult materials (fanart and/or fanfiction) art located. The link may or may not be password protected or hidden away (they usually give hints).
こちら = A lot of times on the splash or first page, they will put a warning or what's in the site, and then provide a link to the site where it says "こちら," which me means "here".
ｌｉｎｋ = Most of the time they will have one or more banners for you to link to them with. They also have links to other sites there. Sometimes they don't have them on that page though, or there's a link that says "About link (or just Abo" where they have them.
リンク = Link. If you see that phrase it most likely means linking to them or links to other sites.
バナー - Banner
コスプレ = Cosplay (costume play)
しょうねんあい = Shounen ai (Although they usually just use the term "Ｂｏｙ’ｓ Ｌｏvｅ(BL), "lady's/woman's ", or sometimes やおい.
やおい or ヤオイ = Yaoi (same as above)
ＷＪ = Weekly Jump

同盟 - (Doumei) Union(s) (like fanlistings but better)
