Star Trek Reboot: Kirk/Spock/McCoy Recs
- The Trinity Universe by Rhonnie [Excerpt] - K/S/Mc in a continuing series that begins with Kirk and McCoy, in the early days of TOS, and ends with all three post-ST:TVH.
Stories like this make me rediscover all over again the joy of falling into a whole new world (sometimes for hours). Fics like this always have the potential to break my heart, because it's somehow so bittersweet to essentially see the characters live their lives through years of experiences, sometimes to the near end. It's why I prefer fics that take place in a short time period so I can leave feeling like there's in some way a lot more to come, even if I'm not reading it. Still, it's good for the soul to read a fic like this one every once in a while because it brings all these realizations back, and makes me feel like I learned a lot. This fic doesn't even go into detail about missions, the ship or it's crew, but it does a great job of including them anyway, through talks, thoughts and their relationship experiences. It even skips around sometimes, like when they get together with Spock, but somehow it's still perfect. After reading this, I will definitely be keeping my eye open for more K/S/Mc stories.
