- Found 'Verse by Not Refined [Excerpt] -While on his red kryptonite bender in Metropolis, Clark (or rather, Kal) meets another man who is trying to escape – Jason Teague.
This is my first Clark/Jason fic, and I totally admit that I haven't seen all the episodes with Jason in it, but I was really curious about how this author, who's totally awesome, would write it - especially since it's an AU and would be easier for me to follow. I even risked getting depressed, because I've read a lot of this author's works and they tend to be really depressing at times! However, it was totally worth it. Yes, there is angst and broken people, but not to the point that there's no 'happy ending'. Jason's mom is a bitch, Jason's vulnerability and jokes made me see him as such a real person, I could sympathize with him, and I liked that his and Clark's relationship have issues, because seriously, what real life couple's doesn't? It's how you work through them that matters. I do wish that I could see into Clark's head though, seriously. His POV on Jason would have been interesting to read. It was interesting to read the Luthors' from a different POV, and I'm glad that they didn't completely ruin things for the characters. I haven't read the sequel all the way through, but the ending doesn't end on a bad note at all, thankfully (I peeked). Oh, and the Kents' are awesome. :) Note: The first part is 'Found' (8 chapters), and the sequel is 'Flames' (9 chapters). (Kal/Jason, Clark/Jason) (R) (Season 3 AU)
